HLC Sports Cluster Sharon Thomas, Primary Sports Specialist |
It is an exciting time for our Learning Community of schools as we drive sport to the next level. After the superb work within the School Sports Partnership in supporting the development of sport we have decided to launch our own initiative.
The HLC Sports Cluster is led by Sharon Thomas our very experienced Primary sport specialist who is developing an exciting programme to enhance sporting provision within our Learning Community. Sharon will be working closely within our own Primary but will impact heavily on our feeder schools of Meadows and Millbrook.
The priorities for the programme are to engage our students in sports, creating a culture of recreation and physical enjoyment. This will be done through competitions, fun activities, training sessions and enrichment activities, such as trips to sporting venues and events.
A key part to Sharon’s work will be her recruitment of outside sports specialists and development of teaching staff to ensure that the teaching of sport is both high quality and enjoyable. By creating a team of highly qualified staff to deliver sport within our schools there is no doubt that our children will love sport and participate regularly.
This is a very exciting time for school sport and I know that HLC through the Sports Cluster we will deliver a superb programme.
