Rewards 2010 -2011 (Secondary Phase)
Rewarding excellence is an important part of learning at HLC. Rewards can be given for a variety of reasons including Excellent Academic, Sporting Achievements and contributions to the life of HLC.
In years 7-9
Students gain My-sticker Rewards. These are logged into a nationally run website and recorded. My Stickers are then converted to house points and a running tally is kept for the individual and school houses.
Students may also be awarded positive logs which again are converted to positive logs.
Year 10 and 11
Positive logs are awarded by staff and are converted to house points giving and individual and school house point total.
Parents and students will be informed as part of the system as follows:
- Positive logs and My-stickers have a currency of 1 unit each e.g.
- 10 = post card home by SSM;
- 20 = letter from SLT link;
- 50 = Head of secondary
- 100 = Principal Commendation
- Principal awards – Students will be seen on Friday in tutor time
