The primary phase has 420 students working in 15 classes from Reception up to Year 6. There are two classes in every year group each with 30 children. We also have an Early Years Nursery Unit with part time places for 64 children.

The primary phase is well staffed with a permanent Teaching Assistant attached to each class. In addition we have 2 Bi-lingual Teaching Assistants, 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants and 2 Student Support Managers all who work to support teaching and learning and families in our school community.

We have large, bright and airy classrooms. Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard and a mini-suite of 3 computers. Every teacher has a laptop computer and class suites of laptops are available to support learning in the classroom. In addition, the primary phase also has an air conditioned computer suite containing 30 computers which is timetabled for all classes to use.

The primary phase takes advantage of specialist secondary staff on site, who support with the delivery of some lessons including modern foreign languages. The primary curriculum is regularly reviewed and developed to provide children with high quality learning opportunities which embrace everyday experiences. A high profile is placed on the health, wellbeing and happiness of all children and this work is an integrated part of the curriculum provided with the primary phase at Hadley Learning Community.
