The Bridge School serves the whole of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin. It provides for pupils with severe / profound learning disabilities, many of whom have additional needs including physical disabilities, sensory impairment and autism.
The school is funded for 162 pupils aged 5 to 19 years. In addition there is an assessment nursery where up to 40 part-time pupils undergo statutory assessment.
The school is characterised by high expectations for all pupils, regardless of learning difficulty or disability. All classrooms are inclusive and supported by a high staffing ratio. There is a well established innovative curriculum informed by careful and thorough assessment that supports personalised learning for each pupil. At the core of this curriculum is an emphasis on development of communication skills. The personal and social development of pupils underpins every interaction within the school, assuring that all pupils are treated with dignity and respect.
